Cupping therapy uses gentle suction to lift and decompress the tissues rather than pressing down into them. We often use it for stubborn muscle tension, tight backs and shoulders, overworked muscles, limited mobility, and areas that just don’t seem to relax.

Cupping can be booked on its own or paired with acupuncture or massage when the combination makes sense for what you’re dealing with.

Okay, So What Exactly Is Cupping?

Cupping uses small cups to create gentle suction against the skin. Instead of pressing into a tight muscle the way massage often does, the cup gently lifts the skin and superficial tissues.

Cups may stay in one place for a few minutes or glide across an area. Many people describe it as a strong stretch or pulling sensation that becomes surprisingly relaxing once everything settles.

Why would suction help a tight muscle?

Massage usually works by pressing inward. Cupping gives us another option by gently lifting the tissues instead.

For an area that already feels compressed, guarded, or overworked, changing the direction of that pressure can sometimes help it feel less restricted and easier to move.

And what are those circles?

Ah yes, the part everyone notices.

Suction can temporarily affect the tiny blood vessels near the surface of the skin, leaving pink, red, or purple circles afterward. Some are barely noticeable and disappear quickly; others may stick around for several days.

Have photos, a wedding, beach plans, or simply don't want marks? Tell us. We can adjust the pressure or technique.

Could Cupping Be a Good Fit?

You do not need to know whether your problem is a “cupping problem.” Start with what feels tight, restricted, sore, or difficult to move.

Cupping may be worth considering for:

  • Neck, shoulder, and back tension

  • Stubborn knots that keep coming back

  • Tight hips, glutes, or calves

  • Workout soreness and sports recovery

  • Overuse or repetitive strain

  • Stiffness or limited mobility

  • Muscles that feel guarded or “stuck”

  • Support alongside acupuncture or massage

Not sure where you fit?

Totally fine. Tell us where you hurt, what feels tight, and what you have already tried.

We can help figure out whether cupping makes sense or whether another treatment would suit you better.
